During zHome construction, 90 percent of all construction related debris will be diverted through waste prevention, reuse and recycling. Howland Homes will also employ practices and plant trees locally to offset all of the project’s construction impacts from start to finish.

Upon completion in Spring 2010, there will be a three month open house period, whereby the public can tour zHome. Nine of the homes will be sold, and one used for five years as a demonstration home to education the public on green design and building practices, then sold as an affordable unit.
